Dr Hywel Jones

I was very impressed with Dr. Jones. When he entered the room he was smiling and promptly introduced himself by name, including his first name and explained his position on the team. His manner was courteous and by making a little joke he was able to put us at ease so that my husband & I felt more relaxed about my forthcoming procedure. He had also produced a FESS sheet which explained what was going to happen and included a follow up of after care, which I found very useful. Likewise, he was a reassuring presence when he brought me round after my operation. I would have no hesitation recommending Dr Hywel Jones as a definite asset to the medical profession. In addition, after I had returned to the ward and was about to have something to eat, a sandwich, Dr. Jones insisted that I should only eat after I had got up out of bed instead of eating whilst sitting in bed to help 'clean up' the back of the mouth this action, I am sure helped facilitate, a speedier discharge than may have been possible without his care. During this time, he also took pains to explain how I was likely to feel during the next few hours / days which was very reassuring.

Dr Jones was caring, kind and very informative. During my pre op telephone appointment with him he went through everything with me about the procedure and post op care. On the day he saw me both pre and post op to check I was okay. He answered any questions I had at any point very clearly. Anyone who has Dr Jones as their anaesthetist is very lucky

Dr Jones showed compassion and empathy towards me. He was well informed on the nature of the procedure and the likely recovery. He gave an honest summary of what to expect which has turned out to be very accurate. He showed great professionalism.

I recently had an operation at Springfield Hospital, where I was in the care of DR Hywel Jones . Before my operation he came to see me and put me completely at ease, his way of explaining what was going to happen was both funny and in plain English, he had read in my notes and knew I was deaf, straight away he made sure that he was looking at me all the time and that I had understood every thing . I have never had a DR with such a wonderful manor both friendly and professional. Even after operation when I was very rough he came to see me three times reassuring me all the time!! An amazing man giving a wonderful service of care in all areas
